Most people sign up for a registry a month or two before the baby shower, but sometimes items for the nursery do end up on the baby registry. It's good to know in advance what items you want to purchase yourself and what items you want to register.
Keep in mind that these items may overlap with your Nursery Checklist, but the items listed below are more commonly added to a registry and won't necessarily affect the design of the room, You can also choose to only register for non-nurses items if you want to purchase everything that is listed yourself.
BASIC NURSEY ITEMS

CRIB MATTRESS
CHANGING PAD
BLANKET FOR GLIDER
HUMIDIFIER/VAPORIZER
AIR PURIFIER
BABY HANGERS
CO-SLEEPER OR BASSINET
DIAPER AND ACCESORY ORGANIZER
DIAPER PAIL
NIGHT-LIGHT
HEALTH AND SAFETY ITEMS

Some of these items aren't really necessary until the baby can pull up on things or crawl. Keep a close eye on them and add safety products as needed.

You may want to keep more design-oriented items off the registry, but you don't have to. If you find decor items that you like and are comfortable registering for, go ahead! Just keep in mind that you may not receive them ll as gifts, so I anything is a core part of your design, I recommend purchasing it on your own.
